Latvian customs seize on average 0.5 tons of drugs every year

In recent years the Latvian State Revenue Service has been seizing on average 0.5 tons of narcotic substances, according to the Customs Administration under the State Revenue Service.

Ordering drugs online and getting them delivered by mail is the most recent trend. By now mail-order drugs are seized at the postal offices every day, said Ingrida Gulbe, Acting Director of the Customs Administration and the Deputy Director General for Customs at the State Revenue Service, speaking at a news conference on the 50th anniversary of the EU Customs Union.
