Norway: Record number of intoxicated drivers caught by the police

Over a thousand intoxicated drivers have been stopped by the police during the first half of this year. New and better test equipment gets the credit for the new record, Norway Today writes.

Figures from the police show that 1186 intoxicated motorists were stopped in the period from January to June, wrote newspaper Bergens Tidende. That’s almost 400 more drivers than in the first half of last year.

This figure includes both the influence of alcohol and drivers who get positive results in saliva drug test samples.
