Study from Norway: Many women are bothered by drunken men

Four out of ten women have experienced that intoxicated men have come with unwanted sexual advances or felt directly threatened by a drunken man in the last year.

The figure comes from a study ordered by Av og Til and conducted by Respons Analyse.

The survey shows that 29 per cent of Norwegian women between 18 and 34 years during the past twelve months have seen the drunken men have crossed the line and come on with unwanted sexual advances. 14 percent say they have felt directly threatened by a drunken man.

“This is about attitude. It’s about women and general manners, but also about the attitude of what is acceptable when you have drunk alcohol. Alcohol is never an excuse to misbehave,” Said Kari Randen, The CEO of Av og Til.
